Our church’s denomination has started the READ Initiative. Reflect-Engage-Apply-Disciple. It’s to get the body of Christ to delve into the word of God in 365 days.
I want to read the Bible through all the way at least once in my life time and allow God to speak something to me each time. These are all familiar landmarks but I want God to “wow” me again. So here goes! Genesis 1
23 “At last!” the man exclaimed.
“This one is bone from my bone,
and flesh from my flesh!
She will be called ‘woman,’
because she was taken from ‘man.’”
24 This explains why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.
25 Now the man and his wife were both naked, but they felt no shame.
Man said at last! Note the exclamation mark when Adam saw his mate. I’d like to think he was relieved, impatient to see her, and surprised all wrapped up in one. Relieved that he would now have someone to share this new life with and loneliness would not be his sentence. Impatient cause he was pining, yearning for this woman. Surprised to see how God can deem him worthy for such a beautiful gift.
Ladies, if ya man isn’t expressing these reactions to you–it’s a loud clamor to run the other way. You want a man who can’t imagine a life without your indelible presence. That when Commitment is up for discussion he doesn’t make excuses or runs the other way. Wives, if you have lost that “umphh” in your sexual and personal relationship with your mate, it is time to go back to your bag of tricks and figure out what it is you need to do. Attitude change, body change, mindset change–make it happen.
Every man needs to exclaim, “At Last!” What are we doing to make them say it and keep them saying it?
